Welcome friends and strangers…I’m so glad you found my site!

I have created this forum for women to share, vent, laugh and most importantly to be heard and validated.

Who is Sherra?

I am the mother of four…ages 18, 17, 17 and 9.
Please send positive thoughts & prayers my way.

I have been a homebased business owner for over 20 years and have been a top leader in direct sales for over 14 years.

I am a speaker, trainer and realist living in Georgia since 1990. My business accomplishments include national, regional and local training events and speaking engagements throughout the United States.

As a former President of a large and active Mothers of Twins Club, I have some insight into raising multiples. Our firstborn was not quite two years old when I brought home two more babies. (I think they call that “closely spaced.”)

Since we have been outnumbered by children from the very beginning, we thought it would be fun to add one more child to our family so we would have an even number. Odd decision, I know.

I am all about bridging the gap for moms with teenagers and telling the truth about real life–especially the hard parts.

I’m a head injury survivor and climbed out of The Black Hole in 2007.

Finding the funny in all the little and not so little life lessons we experience is a huge part of who I am. Because there is one simple thing we all need to do more often…laugh!

Hire Me

Speaking, leading training workshops and women’s retreats in the direct sales industry and to women’s groups is what I love to do. This means that you will get an experienced entrepreneur and a mother who gets it. I truly understand that we are all searching for lessons and tools that will help guide us through our professional and personal life.

To learn more about how I can help your business or organization, check out my Speaking page or Training Topics page.

Contact me and together we’ll put together a program for your group unlike any speaker or trainer you’ve ever had. I can personally promise that attendees will be glad they showed up! The time we spend together will be about real life and real lessons.

About this Site

It started as a Christmas card turned Happy New Year card that almost became a Happy Valentine’s Day card. You can read the card here.

Now click around and get TMI about me and my family. Come back often or subscribe by email or RSS feed* and learn about all the bad real stuff we laugh about. By subscribing, you’ll get an email from me whenever I post something new.

Please comment and share your life lessons. As I’m sure you probably already know, a relationship where only one person shares is rarely successful and I don’t want to get all paranoid and develop a complex…

Footnote: I have been asked by several people “What is an RSS feed?” RSS stands for “Really Simple Syndication” and once you pick a feed reader, you’ll love the convenience of having all your favorite sites in one place instead of having to click and search through bookmarks. I use Google Reader to catch up on all my favorite websites. Subscribe to sites that add new content often (like this one)–it’s a real timesaver!

I took a peek at the content of your blog while I was customizing it, and it made me laugh on more than one occasion. Nice work. Your writing is entertaining—a must, if one is to survive the jungle that is the blogosphere.

Keep writing like that and you’ll’ve made a subscriber out of me!

Thanks so much for kind words. I do hope you’ll come back and see what’s new from time to time! :)

Sherra- Always great to hear from you and your website is GREAT!!! Yes I confess I am a “fluff” Christmas Card Sender. But who wants to read about the “—-” (fill in whatever word fits) that we all deal with!! I wish I could hire you to speak-everyone needs some “Sherra laughs” . I hope your 2008 is getting off to a better start-and I am sorry I did not realize you were in a hole-maybe because I was trying to dig out of my own!! Hope to talk to you soon–Lots of Love and Laughs

I LOVE your website! Once I discovered it I had to go all the way back to the beginning so I could catch up! I didn’t want to miss an entry! You definitely have a “way with words”. You encourage me and remind me to laugh along life’s way. Thank you for that! What a clever name for your website, Sherra!

I am so impressed with your newest creative endeavor! I put you in my favorites and look forward to you expanding my horizons…they need expanding:) I, too, have occasionally visited black holes, might even be slipping over the edge right now. You have a wonderful ability to find the humor in them. I hope it rubs off. I’m really glad you’re doing this!

Love your site!
You have always and continue to speak the truth with lots of humor. Thanks for that! I had to go back and read everything from the beginning.

Sherra,
Your spin on life has been making me laugh since…what was it?…third grade? Keep up the good work - there are many of us out here who need a good dose of reality now and again!!

Take care,
K

okay, to answer this question, yes, I got your card. Have posted some comments already to some of your other posts. I did like everyone else I suppose and went thru and read them all when I had the time. Will keep checking back.

Hopefully now I can at least “hear” from you occasionally.

You will let us know if you’re on “the slope” again, won’t you? or dealing with a boulder? Hope so, hate for anyone to have to deal with anything like that alone. Of course now you know you have God to turn to….

later,
M

Hi Sherra

Thanks for sending me the link to your site - it’s great to see it finally all up and running. There’s some great content here too so I’ll be back to check up on you!

Once again, thanks for using my theme, and I wish you all the best.

Aaron

From one black hole neighbor to another…thank you, thank you, thank you…for your frank comments, for telling the truth and for your honesty - even when it hurts. I have had many smiles over the posts here! I went back thru to read them all and laughed and felt a sisterhood that I have experienced with you before. (I have to admit the paint can and rake is my favorite so far - esp. the photo - but the period shoe is a close second!) I appreciate your candor and look forward to sharing the journey out of the black hole with you - even if it is only virtually! Good luck and God bless in this and every venture Sherra! You are amazing!

Sherra this is the perfect forum for you. You are sharing great lessons of life as well as you are bringing laughter into our lives. Thanks. Many parents are not willing to put in the time needed to assure or at least try to produce responsible well rounded and God fearing children (meaning fear of displeasing him).

Keep up the good work.

Hi Sherra!

Well, I am not surprised by the humor and grace of your site. I am very proud of you as I always am. From the first time that we met at the Convention and every day since I have been proud to call you my true friend!

For anybody that is looking for a great motivational speaker, Sherra is your gal.. This is how we met! She was great! Funny and real at the same time. She is one of those people that you just want to be around. She is a jewel.

Keep it up!!!

Sherra,
Welcome back! It was so good to hear from you. I always love our talks when we get together. I came home tonight expecting to grade papers and do some studying (still in grad school- UGH!!) and found your website waiting for me. I’m having difficulty pulling myself away.

It takes an uncommon kind of courage to share the intimate details of your personal experiences like you have in telling about your black hole. And even in the telling, you manage to insert your humor and unique perspectives. I applaud you on this new venture. Keep me on your list. I love the pearls of wisdom! I enjoyed reading the recipes too. But printing them - well that would indicate I intend to cook. NOT!!

For those who don’t know Sherra, I consider her a gem! She’s obviously funny, but she has a real heart for families and relationships. Besides counting her as a friend, I have heard her speak in public many times. She certainly has “what it takes!”

I have your “stories” sent to me, and I always perk up when I open my mailbox to find a new installment has arrived! I appreciate good writing, and these pieces are always excellent–well written and entertaining. Of course, knowing Sherra, I am not at all surprised at the high quality of this project. Her strength and good humor shine through as well!

Coffee in hand, I await the next “issue!”

Man, does Riley look like you or what? That’ cracked me up!
